Ready to go kit

Keep a "ready to go travel kit" in a convenient location, that way when you are getting ready to go for a drive or to town with your care recipient you don't have to gather the most basic of essentials. Use a backpack or old purse, even a box, and place things in it that would need to be ready to go. Sample items from my ready to go kit:
  • A spare dentures container
  • A bottle of water and a plastic cup
  • Some straws
  • Travel sized box of Kleenex
  • Snack stuff
  • A medications list (just in case)
  • Small travel pillow
By having these things ready to go it cuts back on the stress of trying to remember what is needed and gives you more time to remember what you need to take for yourself as well.
