FDA: Public Hearing on Salt and Sodium November 29, 2007

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will be holding a public hearing on November 29th at the Harvey W. Wiley Federal Building in College Park, Maryland to discuss the FDA's policies regarding salt (sodium chloride) and sodium in food.

You can register online for this now, registration began on October 22nd. Anyone that wished to request an opportunity to make an oral presentation at the hearing must have their notice of participation submitted by November 8, 2007.

The purpose of the hearing is to allow the FDA to share its current policies regarding salt and sodium and to solicit information and comments from interested persons not only on this current framework, but on potential future approaches.
