E-Mail scam targeting elderly (defined by scammer as 40+)

E-Mail scam targeting elderly (which the scammer defines as anyone over 40), and claiming to be from the Texas Lottery Commission and that the recipient will get "250,000 pounds" from the Texas Lottery's unclaimed prize fund.

The AARP has an article on this at their website and advises readers to be suspicious: "Lottery ticket purchasers are anonymous."

There are a lot of these kinds of scams out there, but this is the first one I have seen targeting the elderly in particular.
