Chillow Pillow - the cool pillow from Allegro Medical
I have found something that I feel would be of interest to my readers here, a product called the Chillow Pillow from Allegro Medical. This is a pillow that is advertised as being a soft fluid-cool pillow with a cushioning memory foam effect. Reading over the testimonials that Allegro Medical has on their product information page for the Chillow Pillow it looks like the thing would be the perfect solution for anyone that finds polyfiber filled pillows too hot to sleep comfortably or for anyone who desires a cooler experience when drifting off.
The Chillow Pillow can be found at Allegro Medical, who states they have served more than 1 million customers since they were founded in 1996. To find out more about this cooling pillow visit the link above.
Have you ever heard of the Social Security Caregiver Credit Act? Congress has, it has heard of it multiple times, and each time the bill has died in committee red tape.
Being a family caregiver is one of the hardest jobs anyone can ever do, it can easily be called the highest stress unpaid job in the world. Unlike other jobs, there is no compensation for the work. the Social Security Caregiver Credit Act would seek to amend title II of the Social Security Act to credit prospectively individuals serving as caregivers of dependent relatives with deemed wages for up to five years of such service. This would mean that although the caregivers have been unpaid for the substantial value they have contributed to caring for America's retired and elderly, they would at the least not be penalized on Social Security for not having been able to work for up to five years of such service.
Is this truly too much to give for people that sacrifice so much to care for the men and women that have time and again been called the greatest generation, those who care for the men and women who have been said time and again to have done nothing less than save the world? The men and women of the WWII era are slowly fading into history, their lives are being lived out even as you read this. Don't let their caregivers be forgotten, please, write a letter to your congressman and ask them to please support the Social Security Caregiver Credit Act of 2007, this bill is too important to allow it to die in subcommittee again.

I know that I did not keep up as much as I wanted to on this blog for National Family Caregiver Month, but there is still time to thank a family caregiver that you know. It takes just a moment to say "thank you" but it can mean so much. Want to say an extra special thank you? Consider a gift basket or bouquet of flowers, maybe a house plant? And if you want to go the extra mile, consider a letter to your congressman asking them to support the bills that effect family caregivers.
It can be nearly impossible to attend college courses when you are a full-time family caregiver, but that is one of the things that I love about the fully online university's like Capella University. You do not have to build your schedule around the classes you are taking. You can take the classes online whenever and wherever you want to. You can easily catch up on course work while you are waiting at the doctor's office, or compete a course assignment during the hour that your loved one is in physical therapy.
A fully accredited university, capella university offers graduate online degree programs in business, information technology, education and other programs, and bachelor’s degree programs in business, information technology, and public safety. Currently serving nearly 20,000 students from all 50 states and 56 countries Capella University can help you to prepare for reentering the work world in later years.

Don't forget that this month is National Family Caregivers Month. On November 1st the President made it official finally - his speech on National Family Caregivers Month for 2007 states: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ November 1, 2007 — A Proclamation By the President of the United States of America
Each year during National Family Caregivers Month, we celebrate all those who dedicate themselves to caring for others and recognize their efforts to comfort and improve the lives of their loved ones in need.
One of our Nation's defining values is compassion, and we must do our best to see that every citizen is treated with dignity and respect. Family caregivers demonstrate this compassion, often at great sacrifice, to assist with everyday activities for family members who are elderly, chronically ill, or disabled. This dedication contributes to a culture of caring and responsibility across our country.
My Administration remains committed to supporting family caregivers by enhancing their access to services, agencies, and other providers. Late last year, I signed "The Lifespan Respite Care Act of 2006," which establishes a program to assist family caregivers in accessing affordable and high-quality respite care. The National Family Caregiver Support Program encourages cooperation among agencies and other organizations that support and work with the family caregivers. This program offers information, training, and counseling to help family caregivers assist their loved ones.
National Family Caregivers Month is a time to recognize family caregivers for their good hearts and tireless support. Their love and devotion exemplify the true spirit of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim November 2007 as National Family Caregivers Month. I encourage all Americans to honor the selfless service of caregivers who support their loved ones in need.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirty-first day of October, in the year of our Lord two thousand seven, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-second.
GEORGE W. BUSH

Do something this month to say thank you to family caregivers, whether it is to send a letter or an e-mail to your congressman asking them to support bills that support family caregivers or it is to leave a comment on a family caregiver's blog - do something to show your support of those who give so much to help the greatest generation live out the ends of their lives in the comfort of a loving home.
With everything else that I need to get done before I leave for Las Vegas, I need to remember that I also have to get things fixed so my mom can have an easier time getting my dad's pills and everything. Need to buy one of those week long pill sorters for pills and fill them up so she has everything in order for the time I will be gone. We had one of them things, but the lids came off one of the compartments and one of the day tray deals got lost - I think it was left in something in the car and got misplaced from there. So, I'll just make sure I pick another one of them things up and get it sorted out with pills in it before I leave, and that way my mom does not have to worry about what pills he takes when. Something I have memorized.
Do you have a home based business of some kind to help you pay the bills? Would you like to be able to offer some kind of incentive program to people that buy your products? Something to help entice your customers back after they have made a purchase from your online store?
Now you can. I've been looking at this company called Webloyalty. They make incentive offers to any customer of their affiliates that complete a purchase on the affiliates website.
Webloyalty will also guarantee payments of $.50 - $2.00 for every transaction where a customer accepts the free trial of their benefit package, which can be tailored to your customer's needs - and can potentially earn you repeat customers.
When someone finishes shopping at your website, they will see an offer from webloyalty that is offered as a thank you for their order on your site. When they accept the offer the customer gets a free month trial of Webloyalty. After that initial free month the customer can opt to pay webloyalty $10 per month to remain a member.
Webloyalty is an online marketing services company that provides customized programs to fee-based businesses, they help their clients increase revenue while offering those clients’ customers a range of valuable benefits packages. They can assist you in providing your customers with a benefits package, one that is tailored specifically to the needs of your company's clients.

Leave a comment on a family caregiver's blog. Find the blog of one or more family caregivers by going to your preferred search engine and searching for family caregiver and leave some encouraging words on their blogs, just thanking them for being so kind and generous and giving so much of themselves.
If you really want to help, send a letter to your congressman asking them to please support the bills in congress, bills such H.R. 1161: Social Security Caregiver Credit Act of 2007, that support family caregivers. There will never be a better time to remind the members of congress that too many bills such as this one and the H.R. 175: Family Caregiver Security Act of 2005, die out in committees. It is time to help family caregivers.
Remind a Family Caregiver that you are there for them
Send an e-card to someone that you know that is a family caregiver. Remind them that you appreciate what they do for the person that they provide care for. If possible you might tell (or remind them) that you are there for them if they get stressed out and need someone to talk to. Stress is a major part of being a caregiver and a lot of the time it can feel so stifling and lonely trying to do it all alone that the family caregiver can feel isolated from everyone around them. This is the month to take a moment and remind them that you care, that you are there if they need someone. It will mean a lot to them.
I live in Alaska where I am a full-time caregiver to my parents. In what free time I have my favorite things are chatting with friends on-line and writing fantasy stories.
